Our 280g soy candles are made to burn for approximately 50 hours. How you burn them makes a real difference to how long they last and how well the fragrance performs. These simple habits will help you get the most from every candle.
Trim the wick before every burn
Trim the wick to about 5mm each time you light it. A shorter wick gives a steadier flame, a cleaner burn and helps the candle last longer.
Make the first burn count
On the first burn, let the melted wax pool reach close to the edges of the vessel. This helps prevent tunnelling, where the candle burns straight down the middle and leaves wasted wax around the sides.
Burn for 1–2 hours at a time
Around 1–2 hours per burn is the sweet spot. It gives the wax time to melt evenly and release the fragrance without over-working the wick.
Choose the right spot
Keep your candle away from drafts, which can cause uneven burning, and out of reach of children and pets. Always place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
Know when to stop
Stop burning when about 1cm of wax remains at the base of the vessel.
